As I said, the light therapy might be blue or red depending on which one you prefer. You should probably know this, that all light therapy has lights of different wavelengths, and a light with low wavelength is beneficial to the human skin. Difference between the red and blue light

Let’s differentiate the red from the blue light shall we;

Red Light

The red light therapy is a 100% UV free light that is powered by a gentle LED light technology, that penetrates the skin of the human body and acts as vital building blocks for the skin. The red light helps to boost the flow of blood and enhance collagen ATP production level. When these are improved, your skin is enhanced; it becomes brighter, clearer and tighter. There are absolutely no side effects to using this light. The using routine for each patient may vary, but the ideal routine would be three times a week for the next three months, for at least fifteen minute.

Blue light therapy

While the red light therapy enhances the tone and texture of the skin, the blue light therapy is a little more in cleansing. The blue light therapy device is made from the same gentle LED light that penetrates deep into your skin, through the pores in the skin, to help fight against bacteria in your body. Some bacteria may be helpful in for your body, but others may be somewhat harmful, producing excess skin oil that causes skin blemishes and other skin conditions. The blue light can detect the bad bacteria, and cause a chemical reaction in it (the bacteria) that will destroy their outer wall. The blue light helps to get rid of skin conditions like wrinkles, sun damage, psoriasis, and rosacea (amongst others).

Schedule for both light therapies

  • Red Light Therapy

For the red treatment, it is ideal that you start with fifteen minutes a day, and for at least 3-5 days a week. Do this for the first four weeks. In the fifth to eighth week, you do this, 2-3 days weekly. The last four weeks (week 9-12) will be just once or twice a week for fifteen minutes as well.

  • Blue Light Therapy

Unlike the red light therapy, you’ll do the blue light therapy for a 4-week period, and within that period, you’ll carry the treatment out eight times, for at least 15-30 minutes.
